Well, this is my 190e, his name is Clifford. The engine has been the biggest project. It started out life with as a 2.0l - 8v with a whopping 89kw. I couldn't handle the lack of power and ended up dropping in a 2.4l - 8v and supercharging it. It now has a slightly healthier output of around 170kw (230hp), and 128kw at the wheels as shown on the dyno graph.  I am currently running 10psi @ 6000rpm but am loosing a fair bit of power through heat generated by the supercharger, which will eventually be fixed by an intercooler. Anyway here are most of the mods I've done.

Ok, I've just added some pics of the canary on my car. If you don't know what it is, it's a reasonably serious defect notice that basically says your car is unroadworthy for some reason or another. I had one put on my car by the EPA because I don't have the standard injection system fitted even though the electronic injection I now have is much more efficient fuel and emission wise than the stock mechanical injection system. They expect me to pay $3000 to have an ADR (Australian Design Rules) test done to prove that my emissions still comply even though they have no way of showing that they don't. I am currently fighting this and will hopefully get it sorted out before the 16/7/01 (the date that the canary has on it to cancel my registration).

Update on the Canary (31/9/2001)

Well, the whole canary experience is all over and done with now. I ended up having the ADR test done just to get the damn thing off my car. I had the car dyno'd to check that everything was ok for the test and then passed it onto an engineer who then organized the test at Ford. In the end it cost $2250 for the test (not happy) and it passed :-) .

Note: You may have noticed that the layout of this site has been changed, this is due to the work of a generous Mercedesshop member (whiteMeadow) who redesigned the page and emailed it to me without me even asking him (how cool is that!!). I would like to thank him for the new look and hope he doesn't mind me putting his member name on here. I've also put a link to the old page so you can see how ugly it was :-) . Thanks WhiteMeadow!!
